Crater Lake National Park was closed - mostly. I was still able to get a glimpse.

We are at the Pacific again... this time in a New Brighton Beach State Park just south of Santa Cruz. Love the beach... but I needed more...
I had enough of the beach and decided to head south/east to the desert. I ended up at Joshua Tree National Park.... after a 10 hours drive I discover that the park was FULL!
On the second day I had a change to discover the park. A hike with a Park Ranger, a solo "Off Trail" hike... and a Sports Bar!
On the third day at Joshua Tree National Park, I met some new friends Marcus and Emily and hiked Ryan Mountain... it was colder in the desert than it was in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan :)
Watching the sunrise over the desert, a scary hike and some nice people... it was a another great day at Joshua Tree National Park.
I found the "Lost Horse Mine" with the help of a pair of friendly New Zealanders. Another great hike at Joshua Tree National Park.
Death Valley is crazy hot, yet deliciously cool. The drive was easy and we always need "road food"... we settle in at Furnace Creek Ranch and watch the Raptors game.
Death Valley National Park hot, cool, dry and salty. We check out Bad Water Basin, hike the Natural Bridge trail and much more. Episide 24 is the morning and Episode 25 is our afternoon. We travel from 282' below sea level to 9,100 above in the same day...good times!
Death Valley National Park has it's highs and lows...on the same day we hiked at 282' below sea level and 9,100' above... a BIG day... and then there were of course the DONKEYS !
